A letter, a bridge, revitalizes the future of a region ------a story about Paira Bridge in Bangladesh

On Oct.28, 2021，the vision of a student from Patuakhali, Bangladesh, has transformed into a tangible reality with the Opening of the Paira Bridge. This major infrastructure bridge project in Bangladesh across the Paira River, about 200 km from the capital Dhaka, is a powerful demonstration of people's livelihood and the government's responsiveness.
The story of the Pyla Bridge began with a letter written by a student in Patuakri to Bangladesh's Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina. In the letter, the students made a sincere plea for a bridge to be built over the river in their area, highlighting the difficulties locals face when traveling to other parts of the region. Prime Minister Hasina was moved by the earnest request and promised to meet the needs of this important infrastructure project.

Prime Minister Hasina made good on her promise and held a ceremony for the opening of the Paira Bridge Line via video on the opening day of the bridge. The opening of the bridge marks a new opportunity for southern Bangladesh. In addition to providing local people with convenient transportation and solving the problem of relying on ferries for transportation, the project opens up new trade routes and accelerates economic activity around the port of Paira, which is destined to contribute significantly to the economic growth and regional prosperity of the area.The Paira Bridge not only symbolizes the progress of infrastructure development, but also embodies the spirit of mutual trust between the government and the people.
The bridge has a total length of 2740m, and the main bridge is an extradosed cable-stayed bridge with a total length of 1470m and a width of 19.76m. It was built by Chinese contractor Longjian Road and Bridge Co., LTD. Liuzhou OVM Machinery Co., Ltd. provided for this bridge the post-tensioning anchorage system, the extradosed stay cable system with cable saddle, and the site technical guidance of the cable installation. The construction of the project cable installation coincided with the outbreak of the epidemic in 2020, and OVM overcame various difficulties and sent technical guidance engineer to the site on time. The cooperation spirit of Unafraid of Difficulties, Customer First, and professional technical guidance,  OVM provided a strong support for cable installation, assuring the installation of stay cables successfully completed.  Therfore, OVM and OVM field service engineer got the unanimously appreciation from the Main contractor, supervision team and client, etc.
