OVM280 Multi-stand Stay Cable System
OVM280 Stay Cable System
An innovative development based on the OVM250 steel strand cable, boasts superior fatigue resistance and durability. Through optimization of the anchorage unit, reduction of the steel strand transition section angle, and enhancement of the steel strand base metal quality, the comprehensive fatigue stress amplitude is increased to 280 MPa. Based on the S-N curve from cable fatigue testing, this cable system demonstrates a fatigue life nearly 4 times that of a cable with a 200 MPa stress amplitude and 1.71 times that of a cable with a 250 MPa stress amplitude. Notably, improvements in anchorage performance and anti-fatigue performance are observed. Moreover, the cable's free section features a multi-layered (more than four layers from outside to inside) uninterrupted anti-corrosion structure, with metal components of the anchorage unit coated in multiple alloy and sealed coatings for corrosion prevention. The steel strands in the anchor cavity are filled with oil-based wax for enhanced protection. This comprehensive design ensures that the entire cable system meets rigorous dynamic water tightness standards. Overall, the cable's anti-corrosion design grade is C5-M, compliant with the highest grade for harsh marine environments as per the international standard ISO 12944 classification. Furthermore, integrating advanced wind resistance and vibration reduction measures, fire prevention technology, and smart solutions enhances the flexibility and adaptability of long-span cable-stayed structures, ensuring elevated safety and durability.
