On April 17th, Mozhai Wulong River Bridge, a key project of the Chongqing-Xiangxi Expressway, which is constructed by CRCC HARBOUR & CHANNEL ENGINEERING BUREAU GROUP and participated by OVM was successful accomplishment of stay-cable installation, laying a solid foundation for the full opening of the expressway.
The bridge is located in Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County in Chongqing and spans the Wulong River with a total length of 708 meters and a main span of 296 meters. it's a bi-directional four-lanes extradosed cable-stayed bridge, no.3 piers reaching heights of 216 meters and ranking among the top of similar bridges in Asia.
The main bridge section is located on a curved section, making it a curved lextradosed cable-stayed bridge. Additionally, the main piers are tall, and the side piers are situated in steep terrain, with the construction site being narrow and influenced by multiple factors such as roads and waterways. This results in high construction difficulty and significant safety risks.
