The first longest stay cable of the No. 2 abutment of Senqu Bridge in Lesotho has been successfully installed.

In February 2025, OVM technical expert construction team, in collaboration with OVM South African agency- PTSS, successfully installed the first longest stay cable of the No. 2 abutment of Senqu Bridge in Lesotho.

The Senqu Bridge, a crucial part of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project, is 825 meters long and 90 meters high, standing as the largest among three large - scale bridges under construction.It will be the first extra-dosed bridge in Lesotho.

During this project, OVM played a pivotal role. We provided a real - time cable force monitoring system during launching, ensuring the safety and stability of the bridge's structure. OVM comprehensive product system, including Post-tensioning prestressing system, launching equipment, stay cable systems, stay cable health monitoring system and an innovative protection system integrating fire prevention, anti - cutting, and anti - damage functions, is applied throughout the bridge.

The project, which started in October 2022 and is expected to be completed in February 2026, will bring great benefits to the local residents.
