On September 10, the Baihualake Bridge, a key control project of the Guiyang–Anshun section expansion on the Shanghai–Kunming Expressway, was successfully closed — 50 days ahead of schedule.

Located at the border of Qingzhen City and Guanshanhu District in Guizhou Province, the Baihualake Bridge is the largest single-tower cable-stayed bridge with a hybrid girder in Guizhou. The total length of the bridge is 1,086 meters, with a 36.5-meter-wide deck, and a (220 + 320)-meter main span. The main tower rises 219 meters above the ground.

The bridge is equipped with 50 pairs stay cables weighing a total of 1,520 tons, all supplied by OVM. The project adopts the OVM250 Multi-strand stay cable system, known for its high load-bearing capacity and superior corrosion protection, with installation and technical services provided by OVM’s professional on-site team.

Throughout the stay cable installation phase, the OVM project team maintained rigorous planning, scientific management, and precision execution, completing cable installation on August 28, which laid a solid foundation for the bridge’s successful closure on September 10.

The early completion of the Baihualake Bridge not only highlights OVM’s engineering expertise and efficiency, but also showcases the strength of “OVM Speed” in supporting China’s major infrastructure projects.
