OVM Anchorage and Heavy-Lift Cable Crane Support the Yanji Yangtze River Bridge Project
OVM has successfully completed the dynamic load test of its 1,000-ton cable crane, confirming the equipment’s readiness for main girder erection. The cable crane will serve the Yanji Yangtze River Bridge, which features a 1,860-meter main span and four main cables—making it the world’s largest four-main cable suspension bridge. Upon completion, it will also be the first of its kind with four main cables and a two-level steel truss girder of different sag ratios, marking another milestone in China’s long-span bridge innovation.

The Yanji Yangtze River Bridge, with a main span of 1,860 m, uses steel truss segments weighing up to 828.8 tons. To lift these ultra-heavy sections across four main cables, OVM developed the world’s largest 1,000-ton cable crane.
The system features automatic clamp-crossing, real-time angle adjustment, and high-precision adaptive control, ensuring safe and accurate operations under extreme loads. Built as an integrated mechanical-hydraulic-intelligent system, its modular truss design can adapt to different cable diameters and spans.
The bridge also adopts OVM’s anchorage system, which uses prefabricated strands as anchorage components. Each cable consists of epoxy-coated strands with HDPE sheathing, providing four layers of corrosion protection and excellent durability.

OVM’s anchorage system also offers high adaptability and adjustability, effectively accommodating the complex internal force distribution caused by the four main cables with different sag ratios. With its superior corrosion protection, reliable anchorage performance, replaceable design, and integrated monitoring capability, OVM’s system ensures the long-term stability and safety of the Yanji Yangtze River Bridge across its record-breaking span.
