The Longmen Bridge, Guangxi’s longest cross-sea bridge, was officially inaugurated, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. OVM provided critical prestressed products, specialized equipment, and technical services for the bridge, including main cables, hangers, PT system and cable cranes, ensuring robust support for its successful completion.

As Guangxi’s first single-span cross-sea suspension bridge exceeding 1,000 meters, the Longmen Bridge features two main cables, each comprising 127 parallel steel wire strands. Each strand, made of 1,860 MPa high-strength steel wires, weighs approximately 46 tons. The bridge employs over 340 parallel wire hangers, with the longest of 110 meters.

For the installation of 96 steel box girders (total weight: 19,000+ tons) on the main navigational span, OVM deployed two 600-ton intelligent cable cranes. Equipped with an automated central control system, these cranes ensured safe and efficient lifting, transportation, and positioning of girders.

Spanning 7.637 kilometers (6,597-meter bridge section), the Longmen Bridge features a 1,098-meter single-span fully floating steel box girder suspension design, accommodating 20,000-ton cruise ships. As a pivotal infrastructure project for the integration of Beihai, Qinzhou, and Fangchenggang (“Bei-Qin-Fang”), it reduces travel time between Fangchenggang and Qinzhou Port from 1.5 hours to 25 minutes, accelerating regional connectivity, boosting the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and fortifying China’s Western Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

The Longmen Bridge marks another milestone in OVM’s portfolio of kilometer-span suspension bridges. With continuous breakthroughs in long-span bridge engineering, OVM’s cutting-edge technologies and unwavering quality will further drive advancements in infrastructure, solidifying its role in advancing China’s vision of a “Transportation Powerhouse.”
